History of School

The school started in 1928 in the temple premises to commemorate the chief priest Kadurupokune Dhammathilaka Thero of Kadurupokuna Jayasundara Purana Vihara. The school was in a small hut with seven students.

In 1970, it became a Maha Vidyalaya (Senior school) where thousands of students in this area could have their education. Every year some of the A/L students get qualified to enter the University to have their higher education.

Many of them who studied at this school are at different levels in the country and also in foreign countries.

Now there are classees from grade 6 to 13 in this school. Arts and Commerce streams are available for the G.C.E. (A/L).
